Sweet’s Corner Park Fountain, Winchester, Ontario

Sweet’s Corner Park is located in the heart of the village of Winchester. The park was named after Aaron Sweet, Winchester’s first reeve, who owned and operated a general store in the limestone building that once occupied the site. A major fire destroyed the structure in 1983.

The Fountain was commissioned by the Winchester Downtown Revitalization Committee as part of the creation of the new park that now beautifies the corner. The design represents the surviving foundation stones of the original general store. Crawling ivy carved on both faces of the piece symbolizes growth, renewal and friendship.
