West Block – Parliament of Canada, Ottawa, Ontario

The largest restoration project in Canadian history is currently underway at the Parliament of Canada. The original construction of the Parliament buildings was the largest project undertaken in North America at its time.

Completed in 1865, the West Block building was one of the first civic buildings in Canada to be constructed in the Victorian High Gothic style. Smith & Barber are responsible for the prestigious task of recreating all of the dimensional stone, as well as any sculptural elements slated for replacement.
